The Marrone Residence

ARCHITECT: GEORGE MARRONE

Homeowner George Marrone serendipitously discovered his 1959 MCM gem while conducting an online property search for a friend.  A collector with an eye for shape and space, George saw past the linoleum floors, heavy drapes, and avocado shag carpet to the potential of the artist-built home.  The tri-level design retains many of its original features including walnut paneled walls, red oak floors, built-in walnut bookcase, and a 3-sided Pennsylvania flagstone fireplace.  After brightening the home and making the space his own through a mix of vintage and modern furniture, ceramics and artwork, the home is now a comfortable, stylish retreat where George and his Bulldogs can enjoy nature from every room of their mid mod pad just 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia.
